Before I could rant and curse about my ill-fortune of losing my wallet, together with the identity, school matriculation, ATM and a bunch of other cards, and also a rather important wrapper, I'd managed to retrieve it. The school had called. Apparently a student had picked up my wallet which I was oh so positive had dropped on board bus service 23. It had.
Now, what's really bothering and puzzling me were the actions of the person who returned my wallet. Why didn't he just pass it to the bus driver? Or perhaps give it to the school office the following day, instead of like, holding it for a day. And what really annoyed me was that the lady I spoke to whilst collecting my wallet reminded me, morie than once, to thank the student. Gratitude doesn't work that way for me. I also found out from her that the student had appeared hesitant n recording down his details. Perhaps my wallet got back to me only because of the measly $4 it had inside.
On a much brighter note, I am really glad to have gotten the wallet back. There weren't much cash inside, and replacing the cards would surely have been a chore. But the wrapper, that was irreplaceable.
